About Sylvia
Life between two worlds.
I’m Sylvia Mather, Creative Producer, Conscious Storyteller and Founder of Soul Sunshine.
Born in the Austrian Alps, I spent my early years surrounded by mountains and small-town stories. At 26, I made the leap to Australia a move that didn't just change my address, it cracked open everything I thought I knew about identity. This cross-cultural journey has given me a global perspective on identity, storytelling and human development.
For over a decade, I've been creating spaces where people feel safe enough to explore their real stories. Through film, conversation, and transformational experiences, I've witnessed the same magic over and over: when someone truly sees themselves, everything shifts.
Whether I'm behind the camera, hosting conversations, or guiding someone through their Human Design, my intention remains the same: to create spaces where clarity emerges and authentic stories connect.

My Story
Growing up in the Austrian Alps, I was surrounded by stories. My grandma was the original storyteller and I listened to her for hours telling me stories about 'what life was like back then.' There were the quiet narratives of small-town life as well as the ones about the big wide world. Little did I know as a little girl that one day, I would be the one living in a story about this big wide world.
I came to Australia on an exchange semester in 2005. What was supposed to be 'an adventure of a lifetime' ended with me moving to Australia in 2009 and it was the start of me questioning what identity really is and how fluid it can be.
That transition taught me something profound: We're not fixed beings. We're constantly becoming - shaped by the stories we tell ourselves and the experiences that crack us open.
With a background in psychology and communication - and a life that has given me plenty of material to work with - I've always been drawn to what happens beneath the surface, the unseen threads that shape how we see ourselves, how we move through the world and how we keep standing up, getting stronger and moving on.
Over the past decade, I've produced documentary-style films, podcasts and live experiences for organisations that care about more than profit. At the heart of every project is the same question: What's the real story here? Not the polished version, but the human truth that connects us all.
For over a decade I built my craft in collaboration with Digital Storytellers, one of Australia's most respected impact production companies. Producing 100+ films across social impact, culture and wellbeing. Learning what it means to hold a story with care, with depth, with integrity. That work shaped everything. And it also showed me what I was ready to build on my own.
Becoming a mother changed everything. The most incredible and beautiful experience of my life - a transformation so deep, I will try to put words to it one day - led me even deeper into identity work: NLP, Human Design, Energy Clearing. Tools that help people understand their authentic patterns instead of trying to fit someone else's blueprint and to build a life that actually feels like theirs.
I hold two Masters degrees in Psychology and Media & Communication and over the years I've trained extensively in NLP, Human Design, Emotional Clearing and Transformational Coaching. I'm a perpetual student of the human experience, because the more I understand about how we're wired, the better I can hold space for the people I work with.
In 2020, I launched the Soul Sunshine Podcast, holding meaningful conversations about mental health, wellbeing and what it really means to be human. Today, it reaches listeners in over 90 countries, proving that when we share our real stories, we connect and feel less alone.
At its core, my belief is simple:
The stories we tell don't just express who we are, they shape who we become.
